Florida always has some fresh water getaways too. Took a customer kayaking and a little large mouth bass fishing in our Everglades today. We had a nice paddle through the Holey Lands Wildlife Management area, and seen a good share of nature as well.
Anne Kolb West Lake Park
On a windy day, Anne Kolb West Lake Park was still very calm and graceful while paddling through all the mangrove paths. It was a great day for a beginner kayaker, to see the back-country Florida has to offer, but in a nice secluded and safe area.
John U. Lloyd State Park
As we adventured on our kayak journey in John U. Lloyd State Park, we came up on a very low tide. Many of the mangrove trails were only in 3 inches of water, making it a great but fun challenge, which you could not do in a boat or a hike. The current was also flowing swiftly through Whiskey Creek, giving us some "Outdoor Crossfit", and a very peaceful and relaxing paddle/drift back, letting us enjoy everything around us.
